PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Coordinator of Instructional Coaching will be responsible for increasing teacher instructional capacity and quality of instruction by improving the efficacy of Instructional Coaches, including Reading and Math coaches, through a continual cycle of coaching, development, and evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in education administration, curriculum and instruction, or teaching
- Principal’s certification preferred
- T-TESS Dimension and Domain knowledge
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Thorough demonstrated knowledge of effectively coaching/supporting
- Ability to model effective instruction across grade bands and content areas
- Ability to build and leverage strong relationships with other team members in ways that motivate and
inspire them
- Ability to evaluate and recognize high-quality teaching strategies
- Ability to manage budget and scheduling
- Ability to coordinate district trainings
- Ability to present effective and engaging staff development
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Three years experience as a successful classroom teacher
- Experience in instructional leadership roles preferred (e.g., AP, Instructional Coach, etc.)
- Coaching experience with demonstrated increases in student achievement and teacher effectiveness
- (minimum two years experience preferred)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Coordinate and Secure Professional Development Opportunities
- Facilitate and/or deliver quality and targeted training for Instructional Coaches, including Reading and Math coaches
- Work with instructional leaders to examine teacher effectiveness and develop individual coaching plans in collaboration with campus instructional coaches
- Create an individualized professional development scope and sequence for instructional coaches
- Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support quality instructional coaching on campuses
- Provide ongoing observation and feedback to campus instructional coaches to help improve their abilities to positively impact teachers
- Align talent development processes, routines, systems, and structures school-wide to maximize student learning
- Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district’s goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs of the district.
- Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals, objectives, and campus performance objectives
- Obtain and apply evaluative data (including student achievement data) to examine instructional coaching support effectiveness
- Secure consultants, specialists, and other community resources with adherence to the district’s business and finance regulations
- Compile, maintain, and present all reports, records, and other documents required
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as a role model for all district staff
- Actively seek training and information, which will enhance skills and knowledge, related to responsibilities.
- Articulate the district’s mission, instructional philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicit their support in realizing the mission
- Maintain records of observation/feedback visits, along with follow up, and professional development attendance (sign in sheets, Eduphoria attendance records) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy.
Budget
- Ensure that selected programs/materials are cost effective and funds are managed prudently by compiling budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
Communication
- Provide for two-way communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community
- Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with administrators, parents, teachers, staff, and community
- Monitor professional research and disseminate ideas and information to other professionals

- Perform other duties as assigned.
